Clusto lets you run Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, and other AI coding agents on your own machines and pick them up from any device. The setup takes a few minutes, and you can do it on Linux, Windows, or macOS. Here is how to install Clusto on each platform.
Install Clusto on Linux

Linux is the primary platform for running the Clusto daemon, whether on a headless server, a workstation, or a home lab. The installer detects x64 or ARM64 automatically.
Install the CLI
Run this single command:curl -fsSL https://dl.clusto.app/install.sh | shConfigure and start the server
After installation, run:clusto install
The interactive wizard guides you through configuration and starts the daemon.
Once the daemon is running, your machine is ready to host sessions. You can add this server to the Clusto app on your other devices later.
Install the Clusto App on Windows

The native Windows app keeps your sessions synced and includes future updates automatically. The installer works on Windows 10 and later, 64-bit only.
- Download the installer from the Clusto download page. The file is named
Clusto-win-x64-1.14.7-setup.exe(roughly 35 MB). - Open the .exe and complete the installation wizard.
- Launch Clusto. Add your server address and authentication token in Settings.
After activation, the app connects to your Linux server and gives you access to all running agents.
Set Up Clusto on macOS
macOS users can install the Clusto daemon on a Mac that will run agents, or simply use the web app in a supported browser for the client side.
To install the daemon on macOS (for the server):
Use the same one-line command as on Linux:
curl -fsSL https://dl.clusto.app/install.sh | sh
Then run clusto install to configure.
To use as a client:
Open any modern browser and go to the Clusto web app. No native macOS app is required, though you may also run the Linux installer in WSL or a virtual machine if you prefer.
Common Steps for All Platforms
Once the server is installed on one machine and the app on your devices, you need to activate your license and connect them.
| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1 | Install the daemon on the server machine (Linux, macOS, or WSL) using the curl command. |
| 2 | Install the app on Windows, Linux, Android, or use the web app on iPhone, iPad, macOS, or any browser. Get the app from the download page. |
| 3 | Activate your license. Open the app, go to Settings, and paste your license key (format HIVE-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). Activation is verified offline. |
| 4 | Connect a node. Point the app at your server address. Nodes on the same Tailscale network are discovered automatically. |
| 5 | Share with your team (multi-seat license only). Invite teammates by email from your account. |
Why Run Clusto on Your Own Hardware?

Running AI coding agents on your own machines means you control data, performance, and costs. Clusto detaches the session from your client, so you can close the app, switch devices, and reconnect to the same live state. The agent keeps working, and you keep moving.

Ready to Set Up Your Remote Agent System?
Download Clusto for your platform and get your license key. The Documentation has details on advanced configuration, networking options, and troubleshooting.
Once the daemon is running and your app is connected, you can start any agent, walk away, and pick it up later from another room or another continent.
